Phil Fulmer Needs To Go….
Okay I bought this domain after the debacle that was the UT Florida game in 2007. I have been posting for a few months and have not really thought about the way I felt after that game. Today again I feel like as a fan I have a right to expect a better product.
I have been watching the Vols all my life. The first games I can remember where in the 85 season, so I guess that make me a Vol fan for 23 years. I have owned or had access to season tickets for at least the last 15 years. So when I make this next statement know that I have given a lot to the University over the length of my life.
I believe that it truly is time for a change at the head coaching position at the University of Tennessee.
Fulmer’s record in the 2000s against top 10 teams is 1 and 9. Fulmer’s record against his last 27 SEC opponents is 14 and 13. These are staggering numbers.
These numbers would mean nothing if he was putting a changing and or improving team on the field. As the SEC has become a truly elite conference the coaching talent has risen. This has made recruiting a highly important and competitive affair. The talent we have recruited in the past 5 years has just not been on par with the rest of the elite SEC teams. This never has been more evident than in the 3rd and 4th quarters against Florida today.
If you notice I have not really spoke much about the game. I just believe that anyone who witnessed what was in my opinion one of the worst performances in Tennessee history. In my life I have never seen a team that is more poorly coached. You have a player in Brandon James who has returned a kick on Tennessee three straight years now, so what does our great coaching staff do, they kick to him every instance possible.
So I will end this post with a list.
1. John Gruden
2. Lovie Smith
3. Brian Kelly
4. Lane Kiffin
5. Steve Spurrier
6. Jeremy Bates
I like the photo of Phil. HAHAHAHAHA!
Please Hire Mac Brown from University of Texas. He’s from Cookeville,Tn. His Brother head coach at Tenn Tech. He has championships and a record for rebuilding programs. also a huge winning record.
If we replace Phil we need to be real careful. We could wind up like Michigan. Keep in mind their former coach had a similar winning percentage and like Coach Fulmer had a national championship
Yes we basically have a program that mirrors Michigan. I know we need to be careful but I believe that if you are moving latterly in this league you are going backwards. I think for at least the last 5 years we have been degrading our program and some new blood with a new energy could be a great thing.
